We are seeing a chaotic trend across the globe that is having a profound effect on local and national energy security, to say nothing about the awful things we are experiencing right now with prices in energy from bad policy and global unrest.
We need to look locally for solutions while our national leaders figure out what to do with the issues in Ukraine and Russia.
One of the better short-term solutions is local energy and increasing the availability of biofuels grown right here in our backyard. We need to make regular the sale of higher blends of ethanol and make them the norm in our marketplace. There is no reason we aren’t looking here in our own backyard where we can invest a significant amount in locally grown energy and boost our local economy at the same time. Especially for our agricultural communities, but for our whole state and country, it is a win-win.
It is time for leaders in the upper Midwest to make higher blends of ethanol like E15 more readily available statewide.
