Letter: Fix the parking situation at Grand Forks’ Alerus Center

They do not have enough attendants to take money, nobody directing people where to park, and for the recent PBR bull-riding event we never saw one person directing how to exit.

Letter to the editor FSA

I am appreciative of the Alerus Center and the entertainment that they bring to the community. It's a great boost to the economy and gives people a reason to get out to enjoy themselves. However, the parking lot is ridiculous. They do not have enough attendants to take money, nobody directing people where to park, and for the recent PBR bull-riding event we never saw one person directing how to exit.

After attending four events this past year we have spent 45 min, 3 hours, 2 hours and 35 minutes trying to exit the parking lot. Saturday night (PBR) the parking lot was almost the price of admission. We witnessed one person hit by a car, one fender bender, a lot of swearing, shouting and almost a fight.

If the Alerus Center can't find people to help, it's going to continue to be a free-for-all. They need to stop charging to park for their events.
