As a lifetime member of the NRA, I am compelled to write in regards to the tragic and fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Alec Baldwin, there is really only one question that needs an answer. Why did you point a gun (.45 caliber Colt pistol) at Hutchins?

One of the NRA firearms safety rules teaches that you never point a gun (loaded or unloaded) at anyone or anything, you don't intend to shoot. And even if you are sure the firearm is unloaded – you do not point it anywhere you do not want it to shoot!

Other violations are also too obvious to go on about. You never handle any firearm without checking for yourself whether or not it is loaded – you do not accept anyone's word for it.

I would suggest that the entertainment industry have no production involving firearms without the participation of the National Firearms Association of America (NRA).
