This letter is paid content. Judge Charles Halverson is running to keep his seat as a Ninth Judicial District Judge. That means all of you in northwest Minnesota have a say in this race.
I have known Judge Halverson for many years. I have known him as an advisor and lawyer, as a teammate on the ice and a friend. Judge Halverson is a hardworking, honest family man who was appointed by Gov. Mark Dayton in 2018. Not because of political affiliation, but because he was the most qualified candidate. He has been working in the Ninth Judicial District for 30+ years. He earned a degree from the University of North Dakota and his law degree at Hamline University School of Law. He earned the distinction of being named a Criminal Law Specialist. Less than 60 lawyers have earned that distinction of the 16,000+ lawyers in Minnesota. He has considerable experience in family law cases, child protection cases, as well as a variety of civil cases.
I ask that you take judicial elections more seriously than you may have in the past. This time it matters. Judge Halverson has the experience, maturity and integrity that we need from judges in our courtrooms. Vote to keep him there. Vote incumbent. #votejudgehalverson.
