This letter is paid content. I want to add my support to Mayor Mike Brown in his re-election bid. As a former Commander of the Grand Forks Air Force Base (GFAFB), I can personally attest to the outstanding leadership and support he gave to me and our airmen.
Because Mike Brown served as a launch control officer at Grand Forks, he has a keen understanding of the importance of the bond between airmen and their adopted hometown of Grand Forks. It is this bond that makes the relationship between the base and city so strong. I served at many bases throughout my career. This base is special because of the strong bond it has with the City. You made us feel like family.
After I departed the GFAFB I stayed in touch with your community leaders and continued to work with Mayor Brown and his team as they tirelessly walked the halls of Congress and the Pentagon delivering their massage of the determined resolve the community has to keep the GFAFB STRONG AND VIABLE. Mayor Brown represents Grand Forks, the Base and North Dakota well. He is a leader, a mentor and a true asset to your fabulous city. Scott Gray
