UND, NDSU research bill fails in the House

Letter: Disappointed by delay for Enbridge project

To the editor,

I am writing on behalf of the Thief River Falls Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors to express support for the Enbridge Line 3 Replacement Project. Our organization, along with many other organizations and individuals across the state of Minnesota, are disappointed in Gov. Tim Walz's decision to continue the court appeal of Enbridge's Line 3 even after it has been approved by the Public Utilities Commission.

This project has been reviewed and evaluated for almost four years by state and federal experts, 65 public meetings by state agencies, three weeks of evidentiary hearings, thousands of public comments and unanimously approved by the PUC.

It is time to move forward. This project is beneficial for the entire state in many ways both from a safety standpoint and an economic standpoint. We are "One Minnesota" and Minnesota has spoken their support of this project. We urge Gov. Walz to stand by his One Minnesota campaign and listen to all stakeholders who wish to speak with him on this issue and to consider what Minnesota wants.
