Letter: Proof that kindness exists in troubled era

To the editor,

A couple of weeks ago I was dragging my garbage (I am disabled, and use a walker) to the garbage container. And then—wow!—a fire truck pulls over and two firemen get out of the truck and say "Hey, we'll take care of that for you."

I was really surprised and thought that this is why I live in Grand Forks. I really think that those two firemen made my day, and reminded me that even in a world filled with crime and days filled with negative thoughts there there are good people in the world.

I want to thank those two firemen for their act of kindness. And thank you, Grand Forks.
