I appreciate the Grand Forks Herald’s great coverage of the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
It was especially appropriate that President Roosevelt’s radio message to the nation on D-Day was also printed in Thursday’s issue. As the message is read, there are numerous references to Almighty God and the need of our country to continue to dedicate its efforts to a final victory in WWII.
What I wonder, with the current conditions in our country, how many members of the PC Police, ACLU and other “independent thinkers” would go on a rampage criticizing President Roosevelt for daring to bring God into his message to the country?
President Roosevelt summed it up completely with the last words of his message: “And a peace that will let all men live in freedom, reaping the just rewards of their honest toil. Thy will be done, Almighty God. Amen.”
