To the editor,

Remember not so long ago when you knew people who said, "I don't vote for a party, I vote for the person." Usually that meant they voted for people they liked, they trusted and they knew could work with others to compromise and pass good legislation.

You can still be that independent person. When you walk into the voting booth, it is completely private and you can vote for whoever you want. It doesn't matter what your spouse, your children, your parents or your friends think. It doesn't matter how they tell you that you should vote. It doesn't matter if you vote for some Republicans and some Democrats.

It's your decision. Vote however your own conscience leads you.
