To the editor,
I almost missed the piece documenting some of the positive actions and difficult decisions Mark Kennedy has faced as president of UND. I for one could not have survived, much less flourished, in such a hostile, divisive and deriding environment.
I have always been a bit on the fence about UND, but following this most recent fiasco I can say without reservation that I am profoundly ashamed to be a two-time graduate of this university.
Not to worry. I am not a person of power, position or wealth, so UND does not stand to lose anything by my taking this stance. I cannot tolerate such blatant disregard of people for any reason.
We are not (though I believe we may have been at one point) North Dakota nice. This ordeal has cast a lot of people besides Mark Kennedy in a very negative light.
