Not sure what letter-writer Seth Hagen has been drinking, but his suggestion that the UND men's hockey team would be playing better if they just call themselves the Fighting Hawks is ridiculous (" Hockey team's turnaround starts with Fighting Hawks ," Page A4, Dec. 1).

Has he forgotten that the team won the national championship only nine months ago? I believe they were then officially called the Fighting Hawks, even though hundreds of fans and players still liked them as the Fighting Sioux.

The somewhat lackluster start to this season is greatly due to the fact that the team lost five undergraduates to the pros, and has nothing to do whether you call them Hawks or Sioux.
