I wish to write a letter of recommendation for Doug Burgum for governor of North Dakota.

His family goes back a long way in the history of North Dakota, and it shows a continuous thread of commitment and service to our state.

Our family became acquainted with the Burgums when my kids started attending North Dakota State University in the mid-1970s. Almost continually since then, Burgum has helped us at various times on the ranch. When you're out in the hayfield and in the branding corral, you get to see people as they really are. You get to see their real character.

It is my belief that Burgum is a good man and that he would do us well as governor.
