I want to take a moment and thank the Grand Forks Herald for publishing the names of those who have fallen in battle serving this great country (Sunday, May 28).
I have had the privilege of living all over the United States, big cities, small towns and many more in between. Never have I seen a newspaper publish such a remarkable memorial of the men and women who have given their lives to protect others. I was deeply moved and so grateful that I live in such a great community!
I have only lived in Grand Forks for five years, but I am always amazed at how the people here come together when needed. I have met people whose kindness and compassion for others have truly made me a better person.
Again, thank you for remembering these souls, and my personal thanks to those who have served and are currently serving. May God bless you all!
