To the editor,

Not sure if this is the right forum to write a letter to the editor or not.

Why are commercial lawn mowing companies allowed to use the city grass collection sites? If every other company has to pay to remove garbage from their business, why should we, the taxpayers, allow a commercial grass service to dump their grass in the city-maintained grass collection sites?

I used the grass collection site on 34th street on April 22, and one dumpster was empty and the other was a quarter to half used. Twenty-four hours later, I went to dump grass in the same grass collection site, and they were completely full and running over. I find it hard to believe homeowners filled the dumpsters in 24 hours.

Lawn mowing companies should be made to dump their grass at the city dump, whether they are charged a fee for this or they can dump for free at the dump. Our taxes should not go to managing these grass collection sites for commercial lawn companies.
