To the editor,

U.S. Sen. John Hoeven and Rep. Kevin Cramer have both written recently defending their votes for bad health care bills that, fortunately, did not become law.

The two members of Congress claim that they did not vote to take health care away from anyone, which may be technically true. But, they both know that if passed, the bills they voted for would have caused the cost of health insurance to increase so much that many people, including many North Dakotans, who now have insurance would no longer be able to afford it. And, they also know that crucial funds that now go to North Dakota hospitals and clinics would no longer be available.

If Hoeven and Cramer think that affordable health insurance and health care are not important, they should say so instead of being so transparently dishonest.
