To the editor,
It's time for some good news for a change. I am writing to inform everyone that our Grand Forks Public Schools have been and are doing something that is very newsworthy.
I am a para at Lewis and Clark Elementary and we received a "Snow Angel Challenge" from Schroeder Middle School.
This is how it works: In order to participate the children were asked to bring $1 or write a letter for an elderly person, which will be delivered to a local nursing home. At approximately 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, everyone met out on the soccer field adjacent to our school and on cue of 1, 2, 3, everyone hit the ground and started making snow angels. What a sight to see and watch! The kids were all so excited, giggling, laughing and just having some good old fashioned fun. Our school then challenged Valley Middle School.
Our school raised over $300 which is going to our local Children's Miracle Network. I am so honored to be a part of the "Lewis and Clark " team. Go Lions! In my opinion this is the kind of news we should be reporting.
