BISMARCK -- Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., was in North Dakota recently and spoke highly of Gov. John Hoeven. He was very positive that as a U.S. senator, Hoeven would be appointed to the Senate appropriations and energy committees.
These are very important committees for our country and North Dakota. These appointments show recognition of Hoeven's experience and leadership abilities, as well as the important national relationships he already has developed.
Even as a freshman senator, Hoeven can hit the ground running and be effective for our country, as he has been for North Dakota.
Hoeven has represented our state well, and we are better off in many ways than most states. I look forward to helping him get elected.
