To the editor,
While it's great that a billion dollars have already been pledged to rebuild the beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral, which my husband and I visited in 2006, it is very sad to think that there hasn't been the same global outrage and pledges to rebuild the 103 Christian churches and monasteries destroyed by ISIS and the opposition in Syria and Iraq.
Millions of people live in squalor in refugee camps. Where is the global outrage? Where are the wealthy individuals and charitable people ready to lend a hand to rebuild these structures?
We need some perspective.
