At 67 years of age, Arvid Jay Ophaug died, suddenly, on May 23, 2022 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. He was born May 28, 1954 in Grand Forks, ND.

He grew up on a farm near McVille, ND and spent several years farming with his parents, Miles and Marlys Ophaug. He has twin sons, Adam Richard and Aaron Miles Ophaug.
