Janice M. Russell, 78, Grand Forks, ND passed away on November 14, 2020 while residing at Fair Meadow Nursing Home, Fertile, MN.
Janice Marie Sampson was born on July 2, 1942 in Grand Forks the daughter of Edward J. and Josephine (Deitz) Sampson. Janice was a lifelong resident of Grand Forks up until 2018 when she moved to Fertile to be closer to her daughter, Kimberly, following the passing of her one great love Robert “Bob’ Russell. Janice had many qualities that are best characterized and summed up as a unique spirited human being. When you think of family everyone will remember Janice because she was the glue that held everyone together and what she said goes. If you had the pleasure to know her you knew besides the love for Bob, she had other loves and they were Elvis, shopping and watching crime shows. Throughout the years shopping because her favorite pastime activity and if there was a colorful and whacky style of clothes out there then she had to have it. There was never really a time that Janice did not love to socialize and those that got the pleasure to talk with her instantly fell in love with her. She was very straightforward; opinionated and funny to say the least! She was very loved and will be missed tremendously.
Janice is survived by her children Lori Clouse, Kimberly Vaughan, Dianna Russell, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Josephine Sampson; her husband, Robert Russell; son, John Russell and grandson Tyler.
