Mary Ann Rakoczy , 81, of Reynolds, ND passed away peacefully at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND, Friday, February 26, 2021.

Mary Ann Adam was born June 29, 1939 to Clemens and Catherine (Weber) Adam at the family farm in Michigan township. She attended the Michigan township grade school.

On November 12, 1957, she was joined in marriage to Walter A. Rakoczy at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Reynolds, ND. Following their marriage they farmed near Reynolds.

MaryAnn was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a very devoted wife and mother, with a quiet, humble, loving, and caring spirit. When faced with difficult life challenges, she never gave up or lost her faith. She is loved and will be missed by her children, grandchildren, and family.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Bonita) Rakoczy, Northwood, ND, Katherine (Steve) Vacura , Waverly, MN, Walter Rakoczy Jr, Reynolds, ND, Thomas (LoRae) Rakoczy, West Fargo, ND, Richard (Teresa) Rakoczy, Woodbury, MN, Julie (Steve) Olson, McIntosh, MN, Kevin (Sharlene) Rakoczy, Reynolds, ND, Ann (Keenon) Hethcoat, Kingston, TN, Patricia (Robert) Skalet, Mankato, MN, Robert (Roberta) Rakoczy, Grand Forks, ND and Steven (Rachel) Rakoczy, Thompson, ND; 23 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, sister Julie (Ron) Spale, Grand Forks, ND; a brother, Neil (Loretta) Adam, Reynolds, ND.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter; daughter-in-law, Brenda; granddaughter, Carly; father, Clemens; mother, Catherine; sisters, Lorraine Von Ruden and Barbara Kornyta; brother, Romie.

A Private Memorial Liturgy was held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Reynolds, ND.
