Mary Ann Bushaw, 88 of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Monday, May 29, 2017 at Altru Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Ann Owens was born January 21, 1929 the daughter of Edward Owens and Marie (Kane) Owens in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was raised in East Grand Forks, Minnesota and Grand Forks attending Sacred Heart and St. Michael's schools, graduated from St. James Academy in 1947. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Michael J. "Mickey" Bushaw on April 22, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Together they raised five children and gave 59 loving years of marriage to each other. Mary Ann devoted her life to her family. She was a stay-at-home mother and worked part time in Grand Forks Public School Food Service after her children were in school. Mary Ann and Mickey enjoyed their many grandchildren. They spent several years as snowbirds in Arizona and many summers camping at the lakes of Minnesota. Mickey preceded her in death on July 20, 2009. Being raised in an Irish family, Mary Ann enjoyed celebrating her Irish heritage and passed that on to her children. Mary Ann had a kind, loving and compassionate soul. Her children have been blessed to call her "Mother".

Mary Ann is survived by her children Timothy (Mary Hensrud), Marybeth Kalenze, Cathy Bergstrom (Tim), Thomas (Joanne) and James (Lori), 14 grandchildren Stacy Bushaw Boles, David Bushaw, Emily Bushaw, Elizabeth Bushaw, Michael Kalenze, Kari (Randall) Herbst, Kevin (Rosemary) Kalenze, Carissa (Mark) Sonnenberg, Jennifer (Matt) Adams, Sara (Cason) Weber, Marissa Bushaw, Julie Bushaw, Jamie (Zak) Kuznia, Eddie Bushaw, along with 17 great-children; sister Jane (Dave) Gunther, as well as many nieces and nephews and dear family and friends, including her furry friend Muffin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mickey; her parents, Marie Logan, Toby Logan and Ed Owens; sister, Patricia Gorman; brother, John Logan; brother-in-law Michael "Vince" Gorman and granddaughter, Katie Kalenze.

Mass of Christian Burial: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Thursday.

Burial: Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
