John P. Rolczynski

John P. Rolczynski, 85, Grand Forks, ND passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014 in Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks.

John Paul Rolczynski was born on February 1, 1929 the son of Frank A. and Bertha (Langowski) Rolczynski in Minto, ND. He graduated from Grand Forks Central High as class valedictorian in 1947. John served in the U.S. Air Force (1953 - 57) during the Korean Conflict era. He attended seven institutions of higher learning completing three college majors and one minor. John taught Spanish and Russian languages and worked as a self-employed writer of local and regional history. He wrote regional-history columns for newspapers and published history booklets used in local libraries. John provided public testimony and spoke on the North Dakota Statehood Status.

He is survived by a niece and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gertrude "Toody" Lizakowski and infant brothers, James and Francis.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Wednesday.

Interment: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Minto, ND in the spring.

Military Honors: Accorded by the American Legion Post 157, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817 and the North Dakota National Guard.
