John A. Goetz
John A. Goetz, 75, of Grand Forks, ND died Wednesday, March 17, 2021, in his home.
John Arthur Goetz was born on August 16, 1945, in Bismarck, ND the son of Egidi and Rose (Kramer) Goetz. John was the third oldest of eight children. He was raised in Linton, North Dakota and graduated from St. Anthony’s high school in 1963. He served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1966, where he spent his time traveling the oceans on an LST ship. John married Delores Mullner of Mandan, ND in 1973. He began work as a transportation agent at Northwest Airlines in Minneapolis in 1970 where he was briefly, and then transferred to Grand Forks and retired in 2004. He enjoyed his retirement years driving delivery trucks. John always loved to drive even from a young age.
In his earlier years, John was an avid bowler and passed the love of the game onto his kids. He also enjoyed fishing. He most recently cherished spending time with his grandchildren and often spoke about them. Over the years, John and his siblings all enjoyed sharing of their life experiences and joys. John was a soft spoken, kind man with a big heart. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Stefanie (Brent) Parsons; his son, Gregory Goetz; his grandchildren, Ian (age 9) and Ella (age 5) Parsons; his sisters, Rosalie (Paul) Brinkmeyer, Mary (Jim) Heyerman, and Leonie (Jeff) Orchard; his brothers, Dick Goetz, Dean (Barbara) Goetz, and Bob (Rose) Goetz.
