Jerry Hillier

Jerry Paul Hillier passed away peacefully on April 7, 2020 at his winter home in Flagler Beach, Florida after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer.

He was born on December 2, 1960 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Lloyd and Beryl Hillier. Jerry grew up in the Riverside Park area and attended Central High School where he played on the State Champion High School hockey team in 1979.

He went on to attend line school in Bismarck and was employed at Minnkota Power for 30 years as a Lineman and Outpost. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything, and he did. Jerry was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising whitetail deer for several years.

In 2002, he married his wife Loretta in an outdoor ceremony at their home in Warren, MN. Together they enjoyed gardening, snowmobiling, ice fishing, riding motorcycles and taking their grandchildren for pontoon rides at their lake home in Bemidji.

Jerry is survived by his wife Loretta; sons, Justin Hillier (Kim), Daniel Hillier (Sarah), stepsons Danny Walberg (Shannah) Nathan Walberg (Danelle); Grandchildren Adilay, Emily, Norah, Evelynn, Lauren, Mason, Dylan, Lucas, Alison, Zachary, Jacob; 

Siblings Robyn Ofstedal (Wes), Kerry Rosman (Dick), John (Anne), Jim (Kelly), Beverly Paron, and his mother, Beryl Hillier.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Hillier.

Memorial arrangements will be made at a later date.
