Jerry, age 84, passed away Sept. 9, 2019 following complications from hip surgery. Preceded in death by parents, Henry and Julia; brother, George. Survived by loving wife Jeanne; children, Greg (Melissa), Laura (Todd) and Lawrence (Johnny); grandchildren, Erin, Ben, Emily, Andrew, Sarah, Charlie and Elliot; step-grandchildren, Emma and Sophie; his dog Cormac; sisters, Janet and Lois; and many extended family and friends. Jerry grew up on a farm in Hallock, MN and graduated from the University of North Dakota. He spent several summers fighting fires for the U.S. Forest Service and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He met Jeanne, his beloved wife of 56 years, on a blind date and together they raised their family in Bloomington, MN. Jerry retired after a successful career from HEI, Inc. in 2000. He was a devoted family-man, a hard worker, and was passionate about preserving the environment. A Celebration of Life will be held Oct. 13, 2019 from 11am-2pm at the MN Landscape Arboretum (MacMillan Auditorium) 3675 Arboretum Blvd, Chanhassen, MN. A brief service will begin at 12-noon.
