Jeanette Vigen

Jeanette “Nettie” C. Vigen, born June 2nd, 1938 in Larimore, ND to Melvin and Beatrice Heffelfinger, went to be with our Heavenly Father on May 20, 2020.

Jeanette was born and raised in Larimore, ND where she attended Larimore High School and enjoyed being a cheerleader and spending time with her classmates. She worked at the Avalon movie theater in Larimore while in high school and graduated in 1956. Even after the class graduated Jeanette stayed close to her classmates and loved getting together for visits.

On June 16, 1956 she married Virgil Vigen and they lovingly had 5 beautiful children.

Jeanette worked for Peavy Elevator in Arvilla, ND and East Grand Forks, MN from 1962-’83. In 1984 she lived in Dickinson before moving to Scottsdale AZ in 1985. While living in Arizona she worked for Saguaro High school and Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. In 1989 Jeanette moved back to her hometown of Larimore to care for her parents and worked as a civilian at the Grand Forks Air Force Base Red River Dining Hall until she retired in August of 2003.

Jeanette was an exceptionally loving and caring mom, grandma and friend who enjoyed visits and laughs with her family and friends. She will be remembered for many things: her unfailing work ethic, the love she gave, the laughs she shared, her sense of humor, and compassion. Jeanette went by many names: mom, grams, granma, grandma, great grandma and she loved them all. To say the rock of our family will be missed is an understatement but knowing she will be with her son Jeffrey once again eases our hearts.

Jeanette is survived by her son Daniel (Nanon) Vigen, daughters Jeanie (Brian) Vigen, Debra Vigen, Jolene (Doug) Lane. Grandchildren: Rachel (Joe) Hodny, Brittany (Cody) Salisbury, Eric Vigen, Tyler Vigen, Amanda (Dan) Vigen, Melanie (Jesse) Russell, Wyatt Vigen, Austin Lane, Kylie Vigen-Nettum. Great Grandchildren: Karsen, Coltin and Kooper

She is preceded in death by: Her son Jeffrey Vigen, Parents Melvin and Beatrice Heffelfinger, Brothers Richard and Tommy Heffelfinger, her honorary sisters: Marcia Sullivan and Mary Jo Shide, and honorary brother Jim Larimore.

The Celebration of Life for Jeanette will be held at a later date to be announced . Bakke Funeral Home, Larimore, ND Online guestbook: www.bakkefuneralhomes.com
