Henrietta “Henny” West

<p>Henrietta “Henny” West, age 89, of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at her home. The last sibling in her family to be called home to God. </p> <p>Henrietta Helen Myerchin was born on May 26, 1930 in Warren, MN the daughter of John and Marie (Filipi) Myerchin. Henny grew up in Tabor, MN and East Grand Forks, MN. Prior to her marriage, she was employed with Nelly’s Grocery in East Grand Forks. On June 28, 1956, she was united in marriage to Dale West at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks. Henny and Dale raised their three children in Grand Forks. </p> <p>Henny was best known for her unconditional love of her family, parents, siblings and God. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She especially enjoyed the company of her brothers and sisters, along with their spouses. She enjoyed getting with her family for picnics in Sherlock Park and playing pinochle and whist amidst happy laughter and joy! Henny had an abundance of love for her many nieces and nephews; loving them like her own. She enjoyed watching her children participate in activities and sports, weekends at the lake, family vacations and watching the Minnesota Twins, Vikings and Timberwolves. We consider ourselves blessed to be touched by her unconditional love, kindness, peaceful demeanor, warmth and selflessness. </p> <p>She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dale; her daughter, Lori ( Mrs. Tim) Pesch, East Grand Forks, MN; her sons, Douglas West and Darrin (Sarah)West, both of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Holly (Tyler) Messelt, David (Ashley), Brooke and Jhett Pesch; great-grandchildren, Ella and Gage Messelt and Grayson Pesch. </p> <p>Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie; her son-in-law, Tim Pesch and her granddaughter, Katie Ann West; </p> <p>A public Mass will be celebrated for Henrietta, at a later date, in Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Forks, ND. </p> <p>Private Funeral Liturgy: For immediate family only in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel. </p> <p>Burial: Calvary South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND. </p> <p>The online memorial registry may be signed at www.normanfuneral.com </p> <p>(The Historic Norman Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND)</p>
