Frances Jean (Fran) Kochis

Frances Jean (Fran) Kochis passed away on January 2, 2021 in Fargo, ND surrounded by her family. Fran Greenberg was born on Oct 4, 1928 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. In 1946 Fran was united in marriage to Emil Kochis to which eight children were born. Fran served in the Peace Corps in Korea, teaching English as a Second Language. Upon returning to the U.S, Fran taught English in Fargo, North Dakota, and at the University of North Dakota (UND) where she taught Business English until she was 82 years old and retired.
She leaves eight children - daughters Kathleen Zachary of Moorhead, MN, Geraldine (Joe Zamora) of Colorado, Sarah Ochsner (Randy) of Colorado and Mary (Bob Phillips) of California, along with sons David and Christopher Kochis of Moorhead, MN, Michael Kochis of Wisconsin, and John Kochis (Laurie) of Washington state. She also leaves a sister, June Greenberg of Arizona, 23 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Sarah Rosenberg, Art Greenberg, Jr., Heny Liners and Margaret Cox and, her aunt, mentor and companion, Edythe McGuire.
