Ellen Smith (McGuire)

Ellen Smith (McGuire) entered eternal rest on August 1st, 2019 from congestive heart failure. Ellen was born in Grafton, ND on February 21, 1942, the daughter of Edward and Virginia McGuire. She graduated from East Grand Forks Central High School in 1960. Ellen was a life insurance agent in Salem, Oregon most of her working years. She enjoyed baking and having card parties for her friends. Her flower and vegetable gardens were her joy.

Ellen is survived by her son Greg Kilgore and wife Theresa of Eugene, Oregon, daughter Kelli Grimes (Ben) and grandson Austin of Plano, Texas.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Virginia McGuire, and brothers Gary McGuire and Ken McGuire.

Left to mourn Ellen’s passing are sisters Kathy Lillico, Salem, Oregon, Mary Stavig of Grand Forks, ND, Sandy Simonson and Marge Veralrud (Richard) of Oslo, MN, brother Dennis McGuire of Chandler, AZ and many nieces and nephews.

Interment at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Grafton, ND on Sunday, October 13th. Fr. Ilango of Oslo, MN officiated. Service at 1:30 at cemetery.
