Carol Ann (Budzeak) Hutton
Carol Ann (Budzeak) Hutton, 75, born in Hamtramck, MI on January 24, 1945, passed away in her San Marcos, CA home on August 18, 2020. She grew up in Grand Forks, ND and graduated from St. James High School in 1963. While living in Manvel, ND, she introduced Home Interiors & Gifts, Inc. home decorating products and services to the North Dakota market in the late 1960s. Through this work she established and operated a large and thriving business unit for about 15 years, mentoring hundreds of women to realize their dream of financial independence and running their own business.
In the 1980s Carol moved to the San Diego area and eventually settled in San Marcos, where she continued to enjoy gardening her beloved flowers, and never lost her talent for decorating. Carol was very creative, always the consummate hostess for numerous family gatherings, and became known in the family for filling Christmas cards with confetti and California lottery tickets. She was very generous and thoughtful, and would often send bouquets of flowers to her sisters “for no reason,” just to make them happy. She never missed an opportunity to shower her many nieces and nephews with graduation, wedding, and baby gifts. In their younger years, her siblings were always grateful for her many acts of kindness and compassion as she helped them navigate life growing up.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Stephie (Riske Budzeak) Metcalf of Kent, WA and Henry Budzeak of Grand Forks, ND, and her brother David Budzeak of Kent, WA. She is survived by daughter Kristyne Hutton of San Marcos, CA; sister Lois (Ernie) Przybylski of Moses Lake, WA; sister Darlene (Rick) Przybylski, of Moses Lake, WA; sister Mary Ellen Barton of Kent, WA; brother Gary (Kathy) Budzeak, of Kent, WA; sister Gail Bergan of Houston, TX; and step-brother Jim Metcalf of Apache Junction, AZ. Condolences may be sent to Kristy Hutton at 650 S. Rancho Santa Fe Rd., San Marcos, CA, 92078. Rest in peace, Carol.
