Brenda E. Russ Passed away on Saturday March 28, 2020 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN
Funeral services will be held at a later time when it will be safe for everyone to come together to celebrate Brenda’s life.
Brenda Elizabeth Russ was born December 25, 1954 in Grand Forks, ND, to Julia Byzewski Phelps and David Nadeau. Brenda graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. She received her Nursing Degree from Greenville Technical College, Greenville, South Carolina.
Brenda was united in marriage to Dallas S. Russ Jr. on February 14, 1975 in Guam. Brenda and Dallas made their home in McKinley (Cumberland), Wisconsin where she was a Registered Nurse at Cumberland Memorial Hospital. Brenda and Dallas raised three wonderful children Courtney, Amber, and Evan before moving to Thief River Falls, MN where she began working as a Registered Nurse at Northwest Medical Center now Sanford Health in Thief River Falls, MN. Her over 30-year dedication to healthcare in that region allowed to her to work and experience many different facets of healthcare before becoming a Clinical Risk Analyst at Sanford Health.
She was active at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN where she was a part of the church council and a volunteer committee. Brenda enjoyed canning, baking, painting, and many other craft hobbies as well and spending time with her children and five grandchildren.
Brenda is survived by her husband Dallas, Thief River Falls, MN; three children Courtney (Allison) Russ, West Fargo, ND, Amber (Lee) Williams, Lakeland, MN, Evan (Kayla) Russ, Detroit Lakes, MN; brother D. Andrew (Margaret) Babinski, Kenosha, WI, five grandchildren; Shyla, Justin, Melody, Everett, and Johnathan, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother Julia Phelps, father David Nadeau, step-dad George Phelps, sisters Penny Nelson, Vicki Jones, Phyllis McCue.
