Anna C. Dukart,
Anna C. Dukart, 91, of Grand Forks, ND died Friday, April 24, 2020 at the Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo, ND. For the past six weeks, she was surrounded by the caring staff at the Villa Maria. The family greatly appreciated the extra time and effort given to all residents since families were not able to go in the buildings. Anna Carol Praus was born on June 14, 1928, in Dickinson, ND. She is the daughter of Julius and Mary (Huschka) Praus. Anna attended country school and at age twenty married Lawrence Dukart in Dickinson on November 9, 1948.
Anna had a talent for sewing. Her employment was sewing draperies until she retired. She sewed draperies for Schilla’s in Dickinson, Dukart Home Furnishings in Hettinger, Mandan Interiors, Goodman’s, Tupa’s, and Grand Forks Glass and Paint in Grand Forks. Anna enjoyed life, her family was the most important thing to her. She grew up in a family with eleven siblings and was always there for her children and grandchildren. She spent many hours on the bleachers watching baseball, football, basketball, pom-pom, cheerleading, dance, soccer, and gymnastics. You were always welcome at her home and she always tried to feed you something. If there were four people there it was time to play cards. Anna was an avid sports fan; she loved to watch the Twins, the Vikings, UND hockey, and bull riding. Anna was born on Flag Day and the American flag was something she wore proudly every day.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Villa Maria and the staff at Hospice of the Red River Valley. A private funeral will be held for immediate family on May 1, 2020, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
