Ada C. Drevecky
Ada Clarissa Drevecky passed from this earth peacefully with family at her side, at age 94, at the First Care Heath Center in Park River on June 23, 2020.
Ada was born on February 12, 1926 in Warren MN to Alfred and Clara (Hilde) Qually. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural grade school at Fairview Dist. #102, graduated from Adams High School in 1944 and attended Aakers Business College. She worked at 1st State Bank of Park River. Ada married Wallace Drevecky at a ceremony on the Qually family farm on Oct. 26, 1947. The couple farmed south of Adams and in the Park River area until they purchased a farm in Latona Township in 1954. They lived on the farm until they moved into Adams in 1969. Ada was a member of Sarepta Lutheran Church and then Adams Mountain Lutheran Church and WELCA. She was a member of the Kraft Klub for 60 years until they dissolved and was a life member of the Adams American Legion Auxiliary. Ada served as Secretary and Business Manager for Adams School Dist. #128 for 29 years, retiring in 1999 at age 73. Wally passed away on May 10, 2003. In July of 2018, Ada moved to Park River.
Ada was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a busy, socially active woman. She loved to quilt, canned literally hundreds of jars of pickles and vegetables for her family each year and was looking forward to canning this fall. She loved to bake and will be remembered for her ‘Grandma Ada buns’. She enjoyed listening to country western music and listening/dancing to old time music. In later years she loved to read and do Sudoku puzzles. She was a caring friend and caregiver and always made time for coffee parties. Ada loved the two years she spent at the Senior Living Apartments where she and her sister Millie were two peas in a pod.
She was the absolute best mom and grandma, loving and kind and filled with faith in God. She was so proud of all her family; she is a treasure to all and will be greatly missed. Her legacy of Love and Faith will live on in her family.
Ada’s loving family includes her children: Lon (Sandy) Drevecky, Minot, ND; Larry Drevecky, Sidney, MT; DeAnne (Wayne) Vigen, Adams, ND; and Wanda (Layne) Ensrude, Grafton, ND. 10 grandchildren: Kari (Tom) Harris, Kelly (Ana) Drevecky, Travis Drevecky, Justin Drevecky, Steven Drevecky, Ryan (Annie) Vigen, Heidi (Jason) Triplett, Carissa (Reid) Kittelson, Dylan (Destinee) Ensrude and Taylor Ensrude (fiancé Michael Onstad) and 15 great-grandchildren.
