Gracia J. High
Gracia J. High, 41, passed away on May 1, 2019, in Charlotte, NC. She was born on June 16, 1977 at the Grand Forks Air Force Base to George and Julia High. She attended school in Larimore, ND, and graduated in 1995. Gracia was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 16. Although RA is a disease that causes much disability, she persevered. She graduated from Mayville State University in 2000 and continued her education by earning a Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of North Dakota in 2004. She worked at several positions in Grand Forks and later in Minnesota, coaching young kids and adults to become self-sufficient. Gracia loved her work and was very dedicated to her students.
She moved to North Carolina in June of 2015 and continued to tutor young kids at Queens Grant in Mint Hill, NC, until her death. She was a member of Saron Missionary Baptist Church in Polkton, NC, where her funeral was held on May 8. She touched the lives of many people.
Gracia leaves to cherish her memories her mother Julia and father and step-mother, George and Ardis; her sister Kendra Tumer; her nieces Olivia and Jillian; and her four-legged friends, Hudson and Toby.
