How did Victor Newberry die?

Newberry's body was found along a gravel road less than a mile from his Glen Ullin, N.D., home in December 2014. Law enforcement said there was no foul play, but locals speculated there was more to the story. Podcast host James Wolner went looking for answers.

In this gripping 10-part audio series, Wolner lays out the results of his own seven-month investigation. In episode four, James visits the Glen Ullin Times newspaper, and learns more about the place where Victor lived and died. And local music legends Francis and Harvey Tibor explain that Victor’s death isn’t the only perplexing death or crime to come out of Western North Dakota’s history.

If you've missed any of the episodes, they're right below it! Learn more about Wolner and the project on the Dakota Spotlight website.
