Finalists set for Grand Cities Idol
Grand Forks area high schools wrapped up the first phase of school competitions to select finalists who will compete for the title of Grand Cities Idol. The citywide event will take place at 7 p.m. April 24 in the Grand Forks Central High Auditorium.
Grand Forks Central hosted its annual Knight Idol contest Tuesday in the Central Auditorium. Finalists and songs include Sophie Welsh and Zoe Johnson, "People Help the People" by Birdy; Casey Hennessy and Jack Bulman, "Get Here" by Oleta Adams; Anthony Schreier, "Nice 'n' Easy" by Frank Sinatra; Sydney Purper and Olivia Kuchera, "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac; and Kenzie Kelley, Bailey Jaeger and Alexis Roehl, "Piece by Piece" by Kelly Clarkson.
East Side Idol took place March 26 in the East Grand Forks Senior High Performing Arts Center. Finalists include Savannah Vasek, "Untitled;" Christian and Steven Widman, "Sideways;" Will Bernard, Jon Holter, Jake Sundberg and Roberto Kereszi, "Sweet Emotion;" Bailey Melby, "We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off;" and Steven Widman and Kaleb Koho, "G.O.A.T."
Rider Idol was held Feb. 5 at the Red River High School Auditorium. Finalists include Seth Brandl, Kole Young, Gavin Romanick and Ryan Soleim, "Photograph" by Ed Sheeran; Brooklyn Evans and Shalom Oneyka, "Million Reasons" by Lady Gaga; Maggie Steffen and Kaylee Lancaster, "When I Was Your Man" by Bruno Mars; Alex Berger, Drew Relling, Seth Brandl, Ryan Soleim, Gus Voth, Ben Johnson, Dylan Galle, Dan Mussleman and Nick Stokke, "Can't See the Rain" by Downtown Horns; and Ella Henry and Shalom Oneyka, "Rule the World" by Take That.
