ST. CLOUD, Minn. - On Friday, the St. Cloud State women's hockey team allowed UND to score two goals in the third period to earn a tie.
With a big first period on Saturday, the Huskies made sure the Sioux didn't have any late-game magic.
The Huskies scored three unanswered goals to start the game and held on for a 3-1 victory over UND at National Hockey Center.
Former Fargo North standout Amy Currier scored twice, while Sammy Nixon had one goal as St. Cloud State grabbed the early lead.
UND's Stephanie Roy scored at 13 minutes, 7 seconds of the third period to prevent the shutout.

Sioux goalie Brittany Kirkham made 29 saves.
St. Cloud State goalie Ashley Nixon made 24 stops.
UND dropped to 2-6-4 overall and 2-4-2 in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. St. Cloud State improved to 5-4-3 and 4-4-2.
The Sioux were 0-for-7 on the power play, while St. Cloud State was 2-for-5.
UND hosts Niagara next weekend in Ralph Engelstad Arena. Game times are 7:07 p.m. both nights.
