MINNEWAUKAN, ND - A Dickinson woman was injured after she over-corrected while driving west of Devils Lake on Sunday afternoon.
The Highway Patrol says Katie Splichal, 53, was driving a 2005 International straight truck on ND Highway 19 about six miles west of Minnewaukan just before 2:30 p.m.
Splichal was coming from Devils Lake on the way to Bismarck. The patrol reports that there were strong winds coming from the south at the time.
The winds started to push the truck into the north ditch when Splichal turned sharply to the left and over-corrected. The truck tipped onto its right side and slid down the road, coming to rest on the north shoulder.
Splichal was partially ejected from the passenger window and was pinned underneath that truck. She was extricated and taken to Marcy Hospital in Devils Lake with non life-threatening injures. Her condition was not available Sunday evening. She was not wearing a seat belt.
