With candidate filing closed, here's a look at Grand Forks' local ballot

The filing deadline for candidates to appear on Grand Forks' June 12 ballot passed Monday afternoon, leaving voters with a final picture of who's in and who's out -- and, if their name isn't listed, who's a write-in.

The filing deadline for candidates to appear on Grand Forks' June 12 ballot passed Monday afternoon, leaving voters with a final picture of who's in and who's out - and, if their name isn't listed, who's a write-in.

Here's a look at what voters will see in the voting booth:

Grand Forks City Council

The City Council race will have no last-minute entrants. In Ward 2, Katie Dachtler and Mark Rustad will campaign for the seat incumbent Crystal Schneider will not seek, and in Ward 4 and Ward 6, respective incumbents Jeannie Mock and Dana Sande will seek re-election.

Grand Forks Municipal Judge

Al Boucher and Larry J. Richards are both candidates.

Park Commissioner

Three at-large seats are available, sought by Terry Dvorak, Greg LaDouceur and Timothy Skarperud.

Grand Forks School Board

Five at-large seats are sought by eight candidates: Douglas C. Carpenter, Chris Douthit, Shannon Mikula, Brian A. Reybok, Henry H. Howe, Jacqueline Hoffarth, Darin Lee, James Kelso and Bill Palmiscno.

Grand Forks County Sheriff

The county's top law enforcement job is sought by seven candidates: Chris Hutton, Darin Johnson, Mike Lee, B.J. Maxson, Jim Remer, Andy Schneider and Danny Weigel.

Grand Forks County Commission

Three at-large seats are sought by five candidates: Tom Falck, Diane Knauf, Kyle Kvamme, Jeffrey Powell and Bob Rost.
