HASTINGS, Minn. -- A 20-year-old Prescott, Wis., man who lost control of his vehicle on a wet Highway 10 outside of Hastings Thursday spun out into the path of an oncoming semi and died.
Johnathan M. Byrne was killed in the 5:45 p.m. crash.
An eastbound Peterbilt semi was unable to avoid Byrne’s 2000 Mitsubishi Galant and struck it broadside, resulting in the fatal crash, said the Minnesota State Patrol.
The driver of the semi, 59-year-old John Cauchy, also of Prescott, did not appear to be injured.
