Snow is continuing across northwest Minnesota this morning and is expected to taper off by this afternoon, but not before leaving 3 to 6 inches of new snow behind.
Locally heavier amounts are possible, particularly along the Minnesota-Canada border, according to the National Weather Service.
Counties in a winter advisory area that expires at noon are Roseau, Lake of the Woods, Beltrami, Pennington, Red Lake, eastern Polk and eastern Marshall.
