Winter weather advisory in effect until noon for parts of NW Minnesota

Snow is continuing across northwest Minnesota this morning and is expected to taper off by this afternoon, but not before leaving 3 to 6 inches of new snow behind.

Locally heavier amounts are possible, particularly along the Minnesota-Canada border, according to the National Weather Service.

Counties in a winter advisory area that expires at noon are Roseau, Lake of the Woods, Beltrami, Pennington, Red Lake, eastern Polk and eastern Marshall.
