MAHNOMEN, Minn. - A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an accident near here on Sunday evening.
Andrew Johnson, of Winger, Minn., was traveling south on County Road 4 about 22 miles northeast of here when he lost control of his motorcycle and went into the ditch, Mahnomen County Sheriff Doug Krier said in a news release.
Deputies responded to a 911 call about 6:20 p.m. Sunday and found Johnson lying in the ditch next to his motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.
Johnson was not wearing a helmet and speed was a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation, the sheriff said.
