October is trying on a Halloween costume.
Unfortunately, it's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Sunshine and mild temperatures, the rule for much of this October, will be in short supply today when rain and clouds descend over the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Then it gets worse.
"The wind will really ramp up Tuesday," said Jennifer Ritterling, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, N.D.

She said a large storm system that was off the Pacific Coast on Sunday will have settled over the northern Plains by Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing with it high winds and a mix of rain and snow.
It is too early to tell how much of each is headed this way, but Ritterling said snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are not out of the question.
The high winds that begin on Tuesday, with gusts of 50 mph possible, could stick around until Wednesday night.
The trickiest time could be Wednesday morning, when potential snowfall combined with very strong winds may reduce visibility in open areas.
High temperatures may reach only into the 40s on Tuesday and into the 30s on Wednesday, Ritterling said.
