Dangerous wind chill values continue in the Red River Valley and northwestern Minnesota, prompting the National Weather Service to extend this morning's wind chill advisory until 4 this afternoon.

An arctic air mass, combined with the wind, is producing wind chill values of 25 below to 35 below zero.

Grand Forks, Fargo, Wahpeton, Cavalier and Hillsboro, N.D., and Roseau, Thief River Falls, Crookston, Detroit Lakes, Bemidji and Fergus Falls, Minn., are all included in the advisory area.

People who venture outdoors should be sure to wear appropraite clothing, including a hat and gloves, the weather service advised.

Meanwhile, the weather service increased its snow forecast to 1 to 2 inches total, but is sticking to expectations of sub-zero temperatures until Sunday.
