William J. "Bill" Herdegen
William J. "Bill" Herdegen, 81, Grand Forks, ND died Saturday, April 14, 2007, in Northwood Deaconess Health Center, Northwood, ND.
William Joseph Herdegen was born August 14, 1925 the son of Frank J. and Alida M. (Fortin) Herdegen in Grand Forks, ND. He graduated from St. James High School in 1943.
He entered the United States Marine Corps on December 16, 1943 and separated honorably on July 6, 1946. He returned to Grand Forks to live. He married Eileen C. Skinner on August 28, 1952 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks. He was self employed as a residential and commercial plaster/texturing contractor until his retirement.
Bill always felt that the love of his family was his greatest achievement and success in life. Our family would like to give thanks to the Northwood Deaconess Health Center where Bill spent the last 3 years, and a special thanks to care giver and friend, Rachael Evanson.

He is survived by his wife Eileen; daughters, Paulette (Dale) Lian, Fargo, ND, Linda (Mark) Myrvik, Bentonville, AR and Susan (Bill) Swangler, Fargo, ND; sons, Robert (Carol), Minneapolis, MN, James, Fargo, ND and Michael (Lana), St. Paul, MN; 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy, Margaret and Teresa; brothers, Edward, Fredrick and Earl.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ethel.
Memorial Funeral Liturgy: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2007 in Gregory J. Norman - Norman Funeral Home, S. Washington St., Grand Forks, ND.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the liturgy at Norman Funeral Home on Tuesday.
Military Honors: Members of the American Legion Post 157 and the Veterans Of Foreign Wars Post 3817, East Grand Forks, MN.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
