WEST FARGO, N.D. - A West Fargo student may have tuberculosis and about 75 students may need to be evaluated for the disease, according to a statement issued by the West Fargo School District this afternoon.

The district and Fargo Cass Public Health were told about the Sheyenne Nine Grade Center student today. The student's initial symptoms and evaluation were suggestive of tuberculosis, the statement said. The diagnosis will remain "presumptive" until further tests are completed for confirmation.

Fargo Cass Public Health is conducting and investigation to evaluate people who were exposed by being in direct contact with the individual with presumptive TB. Letters were sent home today with the students who may need to be evaluated, explaining their exposure risk and testing information.
