As you're pondering the usual choices for Valentine's Day gifts -- roses, candy or maybe something a little more daring -- an online electronics shopping site claims to have evidence that the possession of certain gadgets makes someone more attractive.
More than 70 percent of people with incomes above $200,000 a year say they find people with "cool phones" more attractive, according to a survey commissioned by Retrevo, a company formed in 2006 to review gadgets and gadget accessories and use data to guide shoppers to the gadgets that are right for them.
More than 60 percent of the survey respondents said they find people with "a cool laptop" more attractive, while 54 percent said people with iPads are more attractive.
But the old ways still work. More women under 35 reported that they are "more attracted to someone walking a dog than someone using a cool phone."
And sporting lots of high tech bling isn't a foolproof way to bolster your dating quotient.

Nearly a third of the people surveyed, men and women, said they find using or wearing a Bluetooth headset in public unattractive, about the same proportion who said they find having a tattoo or piercing unattractive.
We can't help but note that the Retrevo study ( http://goo.gl/h1XRU ) found that only 11 percent of men and 8 percent of women say they find a person "reading a newspaper" unattractive.
