WEATHER: With uncooperative sun, 50s might be out of reach today

It's hard to complain about a 49-degree high on Nov. 12 in Grand Forks, but that revised forecast feels just a bit of a letdown after today's initial forecast of around 53 degrees.

Melting snow freezing overnight also contributed to icy roadways.

It's hard to complain about a 49-degree high on Nov. 12 in Grand Forks, but that revised forecast feels just a bit of a letdown after today's initial forecast of around 53 degrees.

The mostly sunny sky barely not surfaced this morning, and the National Weather Service has revised its afternoon forecast for a partly sunny sky with a high just shy of 50.

This just might be Grand Forks' best chance at temperatures 50 or above for some time; there's not a 50-degree day -- but plenty of 30s -- in Grand Forks' extended forecast. And any 50 degree days is warmer than the average high for this time of year.

So, enjoy the unseasonably warm November day while it lasts.

A slight chance of rain and snow is part of Sunday morning's forecast, and there's not a 50-degree day -- but plenty of 30s days -- in Grand Forks' extended forecast.
