The region is under a wind chill advisory until noon today, thanks to west winds of 10 to 20 mph that are pushing wind chills in the 25-below to 35-below-zero range through at least mid-morning, the National Weather Service office in Grand Forks says.

Temperatures this morning are in the 5-below to 15-below range this morning.

Frost bite can result from wind chills under these conditions, and it can lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken, the weather service says. Wear appropriate clothing this morning, including a hat and gloves.
